1. Which webservers are supported
Modera.net supports any web server on Windows platform as long as ISAPI module PHP is supported (CGI is not supported by Modera.net).
Apache 1.3 or 2.0 is recommended - no additional configuration is needed.
With IIS or other web servers, Apache specific .htaccess definitions must be configured to work with these servers. Please see Modera.net specification document for more info on where and what is used in .htaccess files.
2. How can I install PHP,MySQL + related extensions on Windows
Please see the documentation at www.php.net and www.mysql.com for installation programs or documentation on manual installation.
Installation for both on Windows is relatively easy and default configuration generally works.
3. Will there be a Windows Installer for Modera.net
Windows Installer for Modera.net is in the planning stage.
Any release will be notified as soon as available.
4. Is Windows a good platform to run Modera.net
Windows server can run Modera.net products equally well as Unix/Linux, but due to overall better security and better overall stability we recommend to use Unix/Linux as a production server platform.
1. After installation I get a blank page
1. Check Modera specification and server configuration to see that all necessary components are installed.
2. alternatively run www.yoursite.com/test_server.php.
This program comes with all Modera.net products and does a number of simple tests to see if the configaration is acceptable.
2. How can I check for errors
Modera.net is designed with it's own error reporting capability. In case of errors or module specific raised errors, a message will be shown.
An error log is also created, access it from admin/errors.php or checking the file cache/error.log (XML format).
Non-fatal and other errors are displayed inside the site output HTML in commented form. View page source to see them.
1. What security measures have been taken to protect data/scripts
Modera.net was designed with security in mind, trying to maximize security with given platform.
Program checks and double checks all user input, file/folder access and permissions are strictly controlled.
Further more, all program code is being protected with IonCube encoder software, which prevents any tampering and gives a significant speed increase to the site.
2. Why must PHP safe mode be Off
PHP safe mode, although can increase security in a virtual hosting server environment, also creates a number of restrictions that cause problems to site administration.
Server general configuration and defined users are in fact equally crucial.
An alternative security measure would be to use setting open_basedir, which restricts PHP access to other files on the system.
1. How can I upgrade to latest version?
You should contact your IT department of Modera partner for an upgrade.
2. How powerful is the Clio?
It has a little bit more than 200hp, this is due to a changed air filter and exhaust.
