Building PageRank and awareness
PageRank is one of Google’s ranking systems. In fact, it is one of the core technologies upon which the Google search platform was originally built. Although it’s maybe not quite as important as it used to be in overall ranking terms, achieving a decent PageRank is an essential starting point if you’re seeking to establish a good SERPs presence in a competitive space.
PageRank is assigned to a site based on the number of and quality of incoming links, the frequency with which new content is posted and the site’s age. Put simply, it is a factor that measures trust. On a scale of 0-8, your page starts with a ranking of 0 and, unless you can count on being able to churn out huge amounts of quality content, or you’re confident of getting lots of incoming links, you should aim to achieve a rank of 3 or 4.
